So you want to contribute to FreeThoughtPedia? Wonderful!

There are many ways to start. Here are some suggestions:

First, make sure you're familiar with our Editorial guidelines.

If you need help learning how to use the Wiki system see How to create and edit pages.

Now, what to do (listed in order of highest priority)...

Ways to contribute content:

  • Improve a current "work in progress" - We have many pages that are newly-created, don't have enough information, or need editing. You can find these pages using the link listed. Then go in and edit them and improve them. This is much appreciated, plus it gives you a good starting point to jump in.
  • Create a wanted page - These are pages that are linked to existing articles but have not been created yet. They represent an area of information we want to provide more detail on, but have yet to create the page. You can click on the link to the left and look at the titles for information on pages that need to be created.
  • Create your own page - The easiest way to do this is to find an existing page such as Theological Criticisms and edit that page, putting a link to a new page you will create; save that page, then click on the link and you'll be taken to an edit form where you can begin creating a new page.

Other things to add to your articles:

  • When you think you're finished with the draft of your article, make sure to add appropriate categories. Look at the Category Index to see the list of existing categories, and then add something like this at the end of your article for any categories you wish to add:
[[Category:xxxxxx]]] where xxxxx is the category name from the list.
  • There are many templates available to make your articles look even better. Some of these templates should be used for things like quoting other peoples' work or scripture -- it makes the information easier to display.
  • You can also browse the image gallery to see if there are any images you can use in your article.
  • NOTE! - Article titles, references and category names are CASE-SENSITIVE. Be aware of this. Also note that Wiki always capitalizes the first letter of the title of your article. Avoid using lots of capitals where possible, except on proper names.
